What does this whakataukī have to do with the lockdown?
Everything. Because, between us, we have everything we need to get through it. My food basket, your food basket. Ours. We’re hearing about whānau who are doing it really hard. People who still can’t access the basic necessities of life. And so our message today is this: HELP IS AVAILABLE. No one should go without! Food, water, bedding, medication, cleaning supplies, etc. If you’ve tried everything you can, you don’t have the money or the transport and no one else can help, call your local Emergency Management Group (7am - 7pm).
